Founded by former Frog Design and McKinsey partners Ryan Rowe and Pratap Ranade out of Y-Combinator, Kimono Labs raised over $5 million from Two Culture Capital, Peter Thiel, Founders Fund, Cowboy Ventures, and others to make the web more machine readable. By creating web scraping as a service Kimono Labs allowed non-technical people to structure and export un-structured web data.

Kimono Labs was acquired by Palantir Technologies.
